Nightclub Punch: Gerrard Faces Civil Action

The man punched in a nightclub by England football star Steven Gerrard is launching a civil action against the player and six of his friends, it has emerged.

Gerrard was cleared of affray last month following the attack on businessman Marcus McGee, but six of the Liverpool midfielder's friends received suspended jail terms and community service.
Mr McGee, 34, who lost a front tooth and suffered facial cuts in the fight last December, has told lawyers to begin civil action for compensation for the injuries he received.

The father of two from Southport told the Mail on Sunday: "I've got dental bills and legal fees arising from what happened. But, more importantly, I don't think that justice was properly served.
"I still can't believe that they all walked free - that they effectively got away with beating me up."
He added: "Surely, if another group of lads were captured on camera doing what this lot did, then they would be facing jail, or at least one of them would as a warning to others."
A jury at Liverpool Crown Court acquitted Gerrard of unjustly attacking Mr McGee in the Lounge Inn in Southport, Merseyside, on December 29 to celebrate Liverpool's 5-1 demolition of Newcastle United hours earlier.
The player, of Formby, Merseyside, admitted hitting Mr McGee but denied affray, saying he struck out in self-defence.
Five of Gerrard's friends admitted affray and another pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour in a fight.
They were handed sentences of 18 weeks' imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, and were also ordered to perform 150 hours of unpaid work.

Woman in labour 'refused ambulance'

:A young mother gave birth on a pavement outside a hospital after she was told to make her own way there, she claimed.

Mother-of-three Carmen Blake called her midwife to ask for an ambulance when she went into labour unexpectedly with her fourth child.

But the 27-year-old claims she was refused an ambulance and told to walk the 100m from her house in Leicester to the city's nearby Royal Infirmary.
Her daughter Mariah was delivered on a pavement outside the hospital by a passer-by, just before ambulance crews arrived.
The trust that runs the hospital said it would look into any complaint made about the advice and care the 27-year-old received.
Ms Blake said she started going into labour at about 7.15am on Sunday, August 2: "I phoned up the Royal Infirmary, it's just across the road, and they said to go into a hot bath, and then to make my way over there. I went into the bath and realised she was going to come quickly. I didn't think I'd be able to make it out of the bath, so I phoned the maternity ward back and told them to get an ambulance out.
"They said they were not sending an ambulance and told me I had had nine months to sort out a lift. I thought if I got across the road then at least somebody would be able to help me. I left the house and got to the end of the close, but there was no-one around to help."
Eventually Ms Blake and her friends enlisted the help of a physiotherapist who happened to be passing on her way to work.
She dialled 999 and helped deliver baby Mariah while waiting for emergency services. She even helped remove the cord from around the tot's neck, Ms Blake said.
A spokeswoman for the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust said: "We are disappointed that Ms Blake was not happy with the advice and care she received and will of course investigate any complaint. We are pleased that both Ms Blake and her daughter are well and healthy."

P.S I belive in her story and there is no need to waste any money on their bull shit investigation!

What is wrong with LONDON BUSES?

1. Why do they got heater on hot day, I just don't understand that.
2. What is with their on board audio annoucement system, set in high valume.

these 2 are enough to put people off using the buses, can they stop using the buses, well they can not, they are using buses because that they have no other option and the bus company dam well aware of it.So bus company does not try to make the service better, they are into making the service better for very few and on that process that they will make the 95% if not more than 95% people who use it, life hell as possible. They just care about the few. Why? if they do not get enough profit than tax payer, us again have to pay the stupid LONDON bus company.

THIS IS HOW LONDON BUSES ABUSE MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC EVERYDAY!
NO ONE WANT TO TAKE ANY ACTION,EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT IT!
How, think about it, you have a heater on the bus, it not cold outside, why would it, it's summer.Than you have this onboard audio announcement system shouting at you betteween every bus stop,if the bus stops at any bus stop than you got another shout at each bus stop, when I say shout, I mean shout, it's so loud that people at the bus stop can hear the announcement.I would like to find out which idiot come up with this idea.

These something they chould have spend the money on and it would have made so many people happy, iBUS dispaly on every bus stop, which would tell you, when the next bus is.They would not do that because it would help 100%.

THIS IS HOW EASY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM!

1.What bus company need is, a system that their staff should follow, and if any of their staff thing it's funny to turn the audio too high on buses or set the heater on summer. They should hold the bus driver responsible.Bus driver should check heater is off and mostly they are the one who put them on.audio system is set at low valume.

2. disbale heater on summer time so no one can put it on,and get a infomation button, just one button, so if anybody got on a local but not know where they are going and would like to listen to audio anouncement, they press that button and it will put out announcement.

why make local people who use the service most, listen to the audio on high volume, everyday, how often do you think someone get on a local bus and ask direction from the driver, even with the audio announcement system, is not fool proof. It only read out one road name betteween bus stops but there are many roads betteween bus stops, it may help very few people, but it abuses many, thats on daily ,every single day.Partly because of bus staff, they who turn the volume too high and putting heater on just because it's rainning, come on.

Audio announcement should be turned down and someone should monitor and there should be a number for people to report any drivers thing it's funny to keep the volume too high.I would prefer to shut down of this system until bus company install a information button.

some buses are set the volume to good level, but most of the buses that I am in, has its volume too high and some even has heater on summer time or just because it got dark, can you belive that.

Why is it, they have a announcement system that say the same thing over and over again, why would anybody inside the bus want to hear that, where the hell the bus is going, they know that on the first place thats why they got on,but they could have put a speaker outside the bus, telling everyone at the bus stop, where this bus is going, that will make sense.

The worse buses that I got on are 140,282,427,E9,120,E6,90,207,E7 Last time that I complained the service was bad, Now it gone to worse, Now I am complaining again, can they make it worse than this I wonder.Bus company staff thinks they are untouchable, any other firm, you make a complain, they will sort it out, but bus company staff want to do the opposite.

Lets see what happens.

JAMES

SECRET AGENT
PEOPLE'S PERSON
DEFENDER OF THE WEAK

I also like to make the following points, if you have used LONDON buses recently that you have noticed all of the buses with onboard announcement system, they all put an announcement at each and every time the bus stop and move away from the bus stops and tells you where the bus is going, does anyone get on a bus not knowing where that bus is going? I do not think so, make matter worse, it even put an announcement when someone got off the bus, not even the front door open,or no one got in the bus, still it will tell you again where the bus is going, volume is so high, that it will deafen your ear, I have a very good hearing, but they have set it up so even a deaf person can hear it, no consideration for other travellers.

do we realy need this announcement, the money could have invested on iBus for many bus stop and this would have helped many, but you can not find iBUS on any bus stops,I have even talk to one driver and she told me they been told to keep the announcement system on all time or they will be told off if they switched it off.Can you belive that? even you are the only one in the bus and if you ask the bus driver to switch it off, they will not do it! What the hell is going on.

Nice going LONDON buses, I would like to see the person who come up with this idea and sit in the bus for whole day, use as many buses as possible, than he will know what need to be changed. These people hardly ever get on bus, last time these people use the bus is when they were child.

it's time to say bye bye to the person who come up with this crazy onboard audio announcement
on local buses.Does he have shit for brain. How the fxxx did he programe the machine to put a announcement out, over and over again, telling the travellers already in the bus, where the bus is going.Do you this anybody get in the bus if they were not sure where the bus is going, if you are not sure ask the driver.

Come on get this into your head and turn off the bloody thing, money well wasted!

Landlords and tenants attack government crackdown on ‘student ghettos’

This is what is wrong with the Government plans?

See their plan:
Government plans to restrict multiple occupation of homes to clamp down on the “studentification” of local communities were attacked last night by landlords and tenants.
The proposals would give local authorities the power to restrict the number of properties that house six or more tenants through new planning laws. This move — outlined in a consultation document — comes in response to increased concern from residents that streets in university towns are becoming “student ghettos” that are marginalising the rest of the community.
The British Property Federation described the plan as a knee-jerk reaction and warned that the new rules would lead to higher rents and would affect immigrants, young professionals and benefit claimants as well as students. The proposed laws could result in more “sink estates” and less social integration, the federation said, adding that local businesses that depended on students could face closure.
Liz Peace, chief executive of the federation, said: “You can’t use the planning system for social engineering. Only a tiny fraction of places suffer from a high concentration of HMOs and using a broad brush approach to deal with the issue makes no sense.”

OK, WHAT DO YOU THINK WRONG WITH THEIR PLAN?
I tell you, instead of limiting the amount of people, limit the amount of rent for each property, Because of pure greed of some landlords, care no less about the tenants they rent out a 3 bed room houe to 9,10 and even to 15 peoples, that is just sick. But limiting the rent amount will stop the landlords renting the perperty to many people at the same time will keep the rent low for tenants. Landlord still make limited profits, so evrybody is happy, may be some landlord be very unhappy, so what?

£500 loan to tide a family over Christmas turned into an £88,000 debt

A mother of four suffered two strokes and a brain haemorrhage amid the stress of being harassed by a loan shark, a court was told yesterday.
Debra Wilson, 40, paid Robert Reynolds more than £88,000 over seven years after borrowing £500 to buy her daughter a computer for Christmas. She had to remortgage her home as her payments and debts spiralled.
At one stage she and her husband, Kevin, were handing over more than £2,000 a month and their teenage daughter resorted to bringing home food leftovers from her babysitting job because she was “sick of being hungry”.
Reynolds, 39, of Stanley, Co Durham, admitted harassment with intent to commit violence at Newcastle Crown Court. Mrs Wilson said that she was disappointed after he was given a suspended 51-week prison sentence and banned indefinitely from contacting her family.

The court was told that Mrs Wilson, who at the time was receiving disability living allowance and now works as a receptionist, borrowed the money in the run-up to Christmas 2000.
Soon afterwards she was told that she would have to repay £750, with monthly interest payments of £250 until she could do so, and the couple slipped further into arrears as they struggled to meet Reynolds’s demands.
The worry put an intolerable stress on Mrs Wilson, the court was told, and she even resorted to borrowing her daughter’s earnings from babysitting. In May 2005, she had a stroke, followed by another one in August and then had a brain haemorrhage.
Ann Richardson, for the prosecution, said: “The final straw was on January 23, 2008, when her daughter came home with a bag of food leftovers from her babysitting job. There was no gas, the house was freezing and Mrs Wilson went to the police.”
Judge John Evans told Reynolds: “You are a person without a conscience and you should be stamped with a government health warning as anybody who comes into contact with you will be at risk of damaging their health. Your behaviour towards that family is beneath contempt.”
Reynolds said that he was penniless and told reporters: “Have a look in my accounts.” He was driven away from court in a waiting Jaguar car.
